Pupil Premium

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33

What is the Pupil Premium Grant?

The aim of the Pupil Premium Grant is to raise achievement among disadvantaged pupils.  The Pupil Premium is allocated to children from:

  • low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (plus pupils who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever6 FSM measure).
  • pupils who are looked after or in care.
  • pupils whose parents are in the armed services.

It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium Grant is spent.  However, measures will be included in the performance tables that will capture the achievement of those deprived pupils covered by the Pupil Premium Grant.  The Government also require schools to publish online details of how they have used the premium.

In order to meet the above requirements, Holy Family and St Michaels’ Catholic Primary School will ensure that provision is made which secures the teaching and learning opportunities that meet the needs of all pupils.  As part of the additional provision made for pupils who belong to vulnerable pupils groups, we will ensure that the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils are adequately assessed and addressed.
